Sarawak invites qualified citizens of foreign countries to retire and reside here. It is open to citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia, regardless of race, religion and gender.

All main applicants are to fulfill certain personal and financial criteria set by the Sarawak Government. Successful applicants are granted multiple-entry social visit pass for a period of 10 years and this is renewable. They are allowed to bring with them their spouses and unmarried children below the age of 21 as dependents.

Income and funds brought into Malaysia from overseas are tax-free. However, any income earned within Sarawak—such as rental or property sales—may be subject to taxation.

S-MM2H visa holders can take part in business or investment activities, as long as they follow the current policies and rules established by the government.

Visa

Holders enjoy the benefit of a long-term multiple-entry visa, allowing continuous stay in Sarawak throughout the visa’s duration.

Residence Requirement

To meet the S-MM2H criteria, participants must stay in Sarawak for at least 30 days each year.

Housing Loan

Participants under the S-MM2H program may enjoy better eligibility for home loan approvals from Sarawak-based banks, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

House Purchase

Participants are permitted to acquire an unlimited number of residential properties in Sarawak, provided the purchase meets the state’s minimum pricing regulations.
For instance, in Kuching, the minimum value for eligible properties starts from RM600,000 and above.
