MM2H visa permit- Benefits & Incentives

Once your application is successful, there are various benefits & incentives provided as below:

MM2H Visa Permit

  • 5, 10, 15 & 20 year Social Visit Pass with Multiple Entry as per the category
  • Compulsory 90 days stay per year between you and your dependents if aged below 50
  • No stay condition for aged above 50
  • Renewable after 5 years
  • Main applicant Age 21+ only

House Purchase

Each participant is allowed to purchase residential houses valued above RM500,000 – RM2,000,000 depending on the state. There may be changes with individual states. NOTE: Property purchase is compulsory for the MM2H visa.

Dosmetic Helper

Applicants may request to bring one domestic helper, in accordance with the current regulations set by the Immigration Department.

Children

Those under the MM2H programme may include their unmarried children under 35 years old as dependants.

Tax

Exemptions are available for overseas income and retirement funds remitted to Malaysia, including other foreign-sourced funds.

Business & Investment

MM2H visa holders are generally allowed to start and run their own companies as Directors without needing a Malaysian partner. Specific terms and conditions may apply.

Working

Employment with a Malaysian company is not permitted unless you qualify under the Platinum tier. However, working remotely for overseas employers or freelancing online is allowed.

Others

  • You may bring in personal or household items without paying tax.

  • Eligible to invest in local businesses, stock markets, and unit trusts.

  • Interest from fixed deposits in banks is tax-free.

  • Parents and in-laws can join you under a long-term dependent visa.

  • No restrictions on currency exchange.

  • You can move funds in and out of Malaysia freely.

  • Immediate recognition as a local tax resident with the MM2H visa.
